If we expect interest from Bank, won't there inevitably be a 'run on bank' sometime? Isn't the expectation of earning an interest the root of evil here?
Can we have an organization that will take my money, keep it safe in 'lockers', not invest it anywhere, charge me for the safekeeping and just keep it at that. No interest. No inflation adjusted increase. Just safekeeping the principal. The organization will earn its profits from the safekeeping charges ONLY.
A slightly unrelated question. Shall there be a treaty where every country nationalizes private-profit-making defence/arm/ammunition industry?
Will that not contribute to world peace?
At the end of the day, a profit making defence industry has vested interest in promoting conflicts.
