A great read. Disdain towards the elite, general aversion to criticism means that the government often takes decisions that make sense on the surface but suffer from butterfly effects. Demonetization is the best example!
I (hopefully) believe that the self-reliance rhetoric is primarily to appease and satiate RSS which has been quite vocal about the labor law changes by BJP states. It remains to be seen if the PM goes against the party's ideology and undertake the much needed reforms.
